There are three classes in the leadership series:

  • LEADERSHIP 101 (Highly recommended to be taken first as a foundational course)

LEADERSHIP 101 (Full Day)


This class lays the foundation and is highly recommended to be given before other leadership offerings.  This training is designed to motivate supervisors to accomplish their own personal best while gaining the knowledge needed to coach employees to achieve their potential. Good leadership requires setting goals, practicing clear communication, and inspiring employees to follow your lead which leads to increased productivity. This interactive workshop will identify and teach important skills to give your management team the foundation to be excellent leaders.

  • Strategies for influencing others through clear communication and interaction
  • The types of leadership styles, how to work with them and identify their own
  • How to create a productive work environment

  • Introduction to coaching and counseling skills
  • How to counsel an employee to perform quality work

Effective leaders bring out the best quality work in employees through clear communication, coaching and counseling.  This interactive class will review the introductory coaching and counseling skills taught in Leadership 101 and then cover more complex and difficult coaching and counseling situations.  These skills are vital in order to motivate employees and increase positive interactions in the workplace.

Recommended to be taken after Leadership 101

Participants will:

  • Identify their communication style and how to work with other styles
  • Identify solutions to common communication problems that may be barriers
  • Develop skills in listening actively and empathetically to others
  • Enhance their ability to handle complex situations in coaching and counseling
  • Learn to how to plan and execute a counseling session

Participants will learn that conflict is inevitable but it can be handled effectively. Conflict is an opportunity to clarify workplace values and improve relationships. The class will address eliminating avoidance behaviors which decrease effectiveness and performance. Becoming more confident in the ability to manage conflict will greatly enhance productivity and performance.

Participants will learn that the goal of disciplinary action is to correct behavior and to motivate the employee to improve in the future.  Participants will learn that the type of disciplinary action they choose should be appropriate to the severity and circumstances surrounding the offense.

Recommended to be taken after Leadership 101

Participants will learn:

  • What conflict is, how it escalates, and how to correctly manage it
  • Effective techniques for managing and dealing with anger and difficult people
  • The five most common conflict resolution styles and when to use them
  • How to increase positive communication through non-verbal and verbal skills
  • How to use progressive discipline
  • What not to do while administering a corrective action
